Dr. Colin Hobson
Dr. Hobson was born and raised in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. He attended Rudolph Hennig Elementary School before transferring to Ardrossan Jr./Sr. High School’s French Immersion program.
He went to the University of Alberta before transferring to the University of Waterloo, where he received an Honors Undergraduate degree in Science. Dr. Hobson also received a doctorate degree from the University of Waterloo’s School of Optometry.
In 2012, he became the Lead Optometrist at Family Vision Care where he took over from Dr. Geoff Marsh after his retirement. In May 2015 Dr. Hobson joined up with Optician Kelly Reil to create Fort Saskatchewan Eyecare. Together, their hope is to offer exceptional eyecare services to patients living in Fort Saskatchewan and the surrounding communities.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Hobson’s interests include playing both court and beach volleyball with his wife Jen, hiking with his dogs Kevin and George and boating in the summer months. In September 2018 Dr. Hobson and his wife Jen had a baby girl named Elliot. He is currently involved in organizations such as Optometry Giving Sight, Fort Sasktchewan Rotary, the local Chamber of Commerce and the Edmonton Volleyball Association.
